What Are The Best Cloths for Bathrooms?

Let’s dive into the best cloths for the bathroom and why. Different surfaces require different cleaning cloths so let’s look at them in more detail.

What Cloths To Buy To Clean Your Bathroom

Glass Cleaning Cloths

The best cloth brand for glass cleaning are Ecloths, they work, they don’t use chemicals because they clean with just water. It is a two-part system the first cloth is wet and does the cleaning, and the second cloth is the polishing cloth. The second cloth is used to buff and polish the glass surface.

The ideal uses of the glass cleaning cloths are:

  • Shower screens
  • Mirrors
  • Windows

Pros:

  • No chemicals
  • Easy to use

Cons:

  • They are expensive to buy
  • You do need to put in effort

Antibacterial Cleaning Cloths

Did you know that you can actually buy cloths that have an antibacterial properties built in? Silver is a natural antibacterial material, germs and bacteria can’t grow on it.

So, incorporating silver into the cloths you use makes them have antibacterial properties too.

The ideal uses for antibacterial cloths are any area in your bathroom.

Pros:

  • Safe to use
  • Chemical free

Cons:

  • More expensive to buy
  • The silver properties can wear out before the cloth

Because of the cost I always save these cloths just for toilet cleaning, I know I’m not wiping germs to more areas of the toilet.

What Cloths To Use To Clean Your Bathroom

Microfibre Cloths

Using a microfibre cloth is a good place to start, the better the quality the longer they should last.

My favorite cloths are the Ecloth because I know they will pick up the germs and bacteria without adding any chemicals. This particular brand specifies that you can clean with just water.

There are other types of microfibre cloths coming onto the market made out of other materials which are showing some great promise.

My favorite new material I’m liking is bamboo. It’s quick growing, easy to cultivate, and a natural material. What’s more important is that it does work which is a must for any cleaning product.

Pros:

  • They are easy to obtain
  • It’s easy to clean with them

Cons:

  • Some microfibre cloths are made from plastic, so each time you wash them plastic particles could end up in the drains.
  • You have to find ones that you like the feel and how well they work

When You Need Something More Than A Cloth

Sometimes you need something more than a cloth, soap scum, and watermarks might need something stronger than a cloth to clean.

Using a non-scratch sponge is key, you don’t want to damage the surface you just want to get it clean.

For these situations I turn to my Scrub Daddy, it’s harder when cold, and when warm it is softer, this enables you to pick how hard you need to scrub the area in your bathroom.

As they are non-scratch it’s perfect for bathroom cleaning.

Key Features To Look For In Bathroom Cleaning Cloths

Features you need in bathroom cleaning cloths are simple they have to do the task and do it well.

You want a lint-free cloth so you don’t leave little pieces of lint everywhere.

A good polishing cloth, one that creates a nice streak-free finish.

A cloth that is large enough to give good coverage for your cleaning. There is nothing worse than having a cleaning cloth that is too small.

What Cloth To Use For Each Area In Your Bathroom

Are you struggling to know what cloth to use for what item in your bathroom?

The most versatile cloth is your polishing cloth. It can polish windows and glass, but you can also polish up your taps after cleaning them and any other chrome in your bathroom. You can even try buffing your sinks too!

It changes how your bathroom goes from clean to sparkling clean.

General-purpose microfibre cloth is the most used cloth in your bathroom, it’s going to be used for all the other areas, except your toilet.

Cleaning Your Bathroom Cloths

You will need to wash them. This ensures they are clean and will not cause an outbreak of germs or spread bacteria in your bathroom.

Because I use silver-infused cloths for my toilet cleaning I don’t feel the need to pre-soak them to remove germs and bacteria.

I wash all my cloths together in the washing machine every couple of weeks.

If you use paper towels or toilet paper to clean the toilet or other areas of your bathroom it does reduce the need for washing the cloths but in the long term, it is going to be more expensive.
